Regardless of the final output all ideas start out putting pencil to paper, this is one of the oldest forms of drawing yet is one of the quickest at getting ideas down. There is only the pencil separating the artist from the image that forms on the paper, unlike digital work where every pixel is calculated there is an unpredictability with the pencil. Starting with a blank piece of paper anything can occur, even with the best intentions and ideas the final outcome will always surprise even the creator.
